1.Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using The Learning Ledge website and web application (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you are using the Service on behalf of a student under 18, or as a teacher or administrator on behalf of a school, you confirm that you have the authority to accept these Terms on that basis. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.
2.Description of service
The Learning Ledge provides a learning dashboard, computer-based test (CBT) practice engine, subject notes, and progress-tracking tools intended to support exam preparation and classroom learning. Features, subjects, and tools may be added, changed, or removed at any time as the Platform develops.
The Service is provided on an evolving basis. Some features described on the site may be part of an active build and may not yet reflect the final production version.
3.Eligibility and accounts
You must provide accurate registration information and keep your login credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
Students under the age of 18 should use the Service with the involvement of a parent, guardian, or supervising teacher, particularly where the account was not created directly by the student's school. Teacher and administrator accounts are intended only for verified staff of a registered educational institution or tutor acting in that capacity.
We may refuse registration, or suspend an account, where we reasonably believe the information provided is false or the account is being used in violation of these Terms.
4.Acceptable use
When using the Service, you agree not to:
- Share your account credentials with, or use an account on behalf of, someone else without authorization
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to another user's data, account, or to any non-public area of the Service
- Upload or share content that is unlawful, abusive, harassing, or infringes another person's rights
- Use automated tools to scrape, copy, or extract content or data from the Service without prior written permission
- Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to reverse-engineer the Service's underlying code or infrastructure
- Use the CBT practice tools to facilitate cheating in an official examination setting
We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate action, including suspension or termination of an account, against anyone who violates this section.
5.Educational content and academic disclaimer
Practice questions, mock scores, notes, and progress data provided through the Service are study aids only. They are not official results, do not guarantee performance in any actual examination, and should not be relied upon as a substitute for guidance from a qualified teacher or the relevant examination body.
We make reasonable efforts to keep subject content accurate and current, but we do not warrant that all material is free of errors or fully aligned with the latest official syllabus at all times.
6.Intellectual property
The Learning Ledge name, logo, interface design, and original content (including notes, question banks, and branding assets) are the property of The Learning Ledge or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property law. Except as expressly permitted, you may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service without prior written consent.
You retain ownership of content you personally create within the Service, such as your own notes, subject to the license described in Section 7.
7.User-generated content
Where the Service allows you to create or upload content (for example, personal notes), you grant The Learning Ledge a limited, non-exclusive license to store, display, and process that content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service for you and, where applicable, your supervising school account. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit any content you upload.
8.Plans and payments
Core features of the Service are currently offered free of charge as part of an active development phase. We may introduce paid plans, premium features, or institutional pricing in the future. Where this happens, pricing, billing terms, and refund conditions will be clearly presented before any charge is made, and will be governed by an updated version of these Terms.
9.Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service and request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate access to the Service, in whole or in part, if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service or a specific feature, with notice where reasonably practicable.
10.Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure at all times.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, The Learning Ledge and its team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of data or academic outcomes, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.
11.Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nigeria.
12.Changes to these terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above, and, where appropriate, communicated through the Service or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
